My art is a direct reflection of my observations of the world around me. I am drawn to the inconsistencies and layered complexities of life. The contrasting elements in my photos and sculptures speak to these contradictions and inescapable dualities that confine us. Through efforts of continual internal discovery I delve into the delitescent layers of my subconscious and spirit and urge my viewer to do the same. My process- based studio practice creates an interesting metaphor for existence, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging and overcoming hardships to abundantly embrace the magical journey of life.

Through my work I strive to examine moments through experiences and material play bringing attention to the the time, the space and the simplest of materials. I am always reacting to my environment and objects that create the human landscape. Working in painting, installation and sculpture the medium of a piece is determined by the work itself, it knows what it is and what it should be. Process is essential in the creation of my work. Through a series of steps, or what I call “translations”, I continually interpret, re-interpret and react to previous translations, my environment and the materials. Each step is recognized as a sketch, a maquette and a final work though each piece encourages further development through other technical approaches, processes and mediums.
